Spin-Off from Georgia Sets Its Sights on HCAR
In October of 2008, HCAR announced that Apeliotus (a-PEL-ee-oh-tis) Vision Science has brought the Technology Suites, which are supported by the Life Sciences Greenhouse of Central Pennsylvania (LSGPA), to full capacity. Apeliotus Vision Science is a developer of a diagnostic for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the leading cause of adult vision loss and blindness in developed countries.

The Scientist magazine's readers ranked Penn State College of Medicine as a Top 40 Best Places to Work in U.S. Academia, with job satisfaction and tenure listed as strengths. The sixth annual worldwide survey results, published in the November issue, also include Penn State University at University Park.
